Divante and TIM: Migration to the OChK Platform with DRC by Design

Deployment date: 2026

Sector: software house / e-commerce

Google Cloud

The main challenge for Divante – a Cloudflight Company, which provides consulting and development services for TIM, was an infrastructure that posed a risk to business continuity. The company also required fast and efficient technical support. The initial concept of implementing a Disaster Recovery strategy was replaced by a full-scale migration of Divante’s infrastructure to the OChK Platform in a private cloud model. This solution allowed Divante to modernize its technology stack while simultaneously achieving an architecture that natively guarantees business continuity (DRC by design). TIM, in turn, gained a solid foundation for the stable growth of its e-commerce business.

About Divante

Divante is a Polish software house based in Wrocław, specializing in building advanced e-commerce solutions. It helps global brands build fast and scalable sales platforms using a flexible Composable Commerce approach. Beyond core software development, Divante offers strategic consulting to guide companies through digital transformation. Thanks to their expertise, major market players can successfully sell online using the most modern technologies available. Since 2021, Divante has been part of the international Cloudflight group—a market leader in AI, data, cloud, and software engineering.

About TIM

TIM S.A. has been a key partner for Divante for over 10 years. The company is a market leader in the wholesale distribution of electrical supplies in Poland, offering products such as cables, wires, electrical apparatus, photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, power generators, and switchgears. Sales are primarily conducted via the TIM.pl platform and a mobile app. Since 2024, the company has been part of the international Grupa Würth.

Challenges

  • Risk of business continuity disruption. The existing infrastructure used by Divante to deliver services for its client, TIM, did not guarantee business continuity. Both companies wanted a solution that would ensure high availability for the existing platform and minimize the risk of downtime.

  • Lack of adequate support and responsiveness during incidents. A crucial aspect of the project was ensuring reliable support and high responsiveness in the event of a failure. For this reason, the Divante and TIM teams wanted to establish a relationship with engineers who understood the specifics of their environment, ensuring a fast, direct escalation path and the deployment of proactive monitoring. The goal was to identify issues within the infrastructure layer before they could impact service availability—and consequently—business results.

Choosing OChK as the partner for the project was driven not only by their high competence in implementing scalable cloud architectures but also by their tailored approach to the specific needs of the organization. The companies required proven experience in combining top-tier operational support with designing an environment that incorporates robust security requirements and compliance—including ISO standards.

Solution and implementation

Divante’s original plan was to implement a Disaster Recovery strategy. However, after identifying their needs, conducting a deep analysis of the environment, and holding consultations, OChK experts recommended a change in approach—instead of building solely a backup data center, they proposed a full-scale migration of the infrastructure to the OChK Platform in a private cloud model. This approach made it possible to leverage its native features, which allow for the automatic failover of virtual machines from one data center to another in the event of a failure. In the case of Kubernetes clusters and cloud-native applications, stretching the clusters across sites completely eliminates potential downtime.

The project execution included, among other things:

  • preparing and provisioning the virtualization environment—a dedicated private cloud based on VMware vSphere,

  • preparing the network infrastructure, which allowed for the launch of the environment and the creation of a hybrid environment between OChK Private Cloud and OChK Cloud,

  • designing and deploying high-availability Kubernetes clusters on the OChK infrastructure using Cluster API and a GitOps approach, which ensures configuration versioning, change history, and standardization of deployments,

  • supporting the migration of resources and applications using a replatforming strategy,

  • performing failover tests as part of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) prior to the production launch,

  • modernizing the backup subsystem by replacing previously used scripts and tools with the Backup as a Service (BaaS) solution offered by OChK.

Technologies used

The OChK Platform was used to deliver the project, with the following services being deployed:

Compute

OChK Cloud, OChK Private Cloud, Kubernetes

Storage

OChK Block Storage, OChK NAS, OChK Object Storage

Networking

SDN, Load Balancing

Backup

OChK BaaS

Results

  • Collaboration between OChK and Divante enabled the implementation of modern architectural patterns and the achievement of a transparent architecture that natively eliminates the risk of business continuity disruption (DRC by design).

  • Through the use of two independent data centers, the risk of downtime and a single point of failure was eliminated, which increased service availability and ensured high operational stability.

  • Moving resources to dedicated hardware within a private cloud resolved previous storage issues, delivering high performance, service predictability, and full control over the environment.

  • The migration to the OChK Platform resulted in a 30% increase in the performance speed of the TIM.pl website. In the e-commerce sector, this metric translates directly into a better user experience (UX), higher conversion rates, and a tangible boost to business profitability.

  • The environment is monitored by a dedicated escalation team and certified OChK engineers. Their high responsiveness and support in cross-vendor diagnostics provide Divante with a strong sense of security, allowing its internal teams to focus on core product development. Additionally, through a staff augmentation model, OChK engineers have become a natural extension of Divante’s highly skilled team, taking over a portion of the day-to-day infrastructure management responsibilities.

A full-scale migration to the private cloud, carried out in collaboration with the team from Divante – a Cloudflight company and OChK, was a decision that fundamentally transformed the quality of our environment's operations. The commitment, high responsiveness, and professional approach of the OChK team translated into a tangible improvement in the stability and predictability of our e-commerce platform. Thanks to direct, close day-to-day collaboration and a modern architecture, we achieved a significant increase in the performance and speed of the TIM.pl website while substantially reducing the risk of downtime. This has directly translated into our business results.

Our collaboration with OChK allowed us to design an environment with long-term scalability and business continuity in mind. Thanks to our partner's consultative approach, the project's direction shifted to one that better met the actual needs of both our team and TIM. Divante contributed a deep understanding of e-commerce processes, while OChK brought expert knowledge of cloud architecture. Combining these two perspectives—business and infrastructure—and building a relationship based on joint analysis and mutual trust allowed us to develop the best possible solution. The achieved results, including the measurable impact on our client's financial performance, are the best proof of this success. Thanks to the partnership model with OChK, our team can focus on what creates a real competitive advantage for our clients. In the case of TIM, this means product innovations and sales optimization.
