What is OChK BaaS?
OChK Backup as a Service (BaaS) is a comprehensive solution for creating, storing, and managing backups of a client's systems. This includes tasks such as configuring backup policies, responding to errors, monitoring jobs, performing recovery tests, as well as reporting and RPO/RTO.
To store data, we leverage both our proprietary OChK Platform and solutions within Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure.
Every backup placed on the OChK Platform is stored in one or two separate data centers located within Poland.
Backups are encrypted using an OChK key, though customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK) are available as an option upon request.
Goal:
Advanced protection of databases and applications in the event of a critical failure or physical damage to the infrastructure
OChK BaaS enables the full implementation of the 3-2-1 backup rule, providing your business with the best possible chance of survival in the face of a major threat to your infrastructure or data loss. A fire in the server room building, a cooling system failure leading to hardware overheating, or even the accidental triggering of a fire suppression system is all it takes to put your data at risk.

offsite copy
By fully isolating backups outside your primary location, your business remains resilient not only to unforeseen accidents but also to advanced ransomware and encryption attacks.
Who is OChK BaaS for?
OChK Backup as a Service is designed for companies and institutions seeking a fully secure, flexible, and cost-optimized way to protect their data offsite. We provide a fully functional backup system that offers the flexibility of self-managed operations by the client or the option to outsource service management to OChK (OChK-managed). Our solution addresses the needs of organizations that:
possess native tools within their cloud environment but lack clear procedures, a comprehensive approach to the process, or dedicated personnel to manage it;
operate in hybrid environments and face challenges in managing the backup process (e.g., fragmented teams and tools, inconsistent security policies, or lack of a single process owner).
How does OChK Backup as a Service work?
The service is designed to seamlessly integrate with your organization’s existing IT architecture. We offer the flexibility to choose your backup storage location, providing:
File Storage – recommended for critical systems where minimizing Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is the top priority.
Object Storage (S3) – the most scalable solution, ideal for large data volumes, cloud-native applications, and as a secure, long-term archive.
On-premises Storage – we provide full support for industry-leading solutions such as HPE StoreOnce, Dell Data Domain, or QNAP Enterprise NAS; this enables backup replication even beyond the provided services.
OChK BaaS is a versatile solution that supports any architecture—from on-premises (physical servers, VMware and Hyper-V, Windows and Linux systems) to public cloud (Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
We integrate with all key enterprise applications and platforms, including: Oracle, Red Hat Virtualization, Microsoft Exchange, VMware, Openstack, SAP, Kubernetes, and MySQL.
Access to Market-Leading Software
As part of OChK BaaS, we utilize Commvault—the most recognized backup and recovery software on the market.
This allows us to ensure full service flexibility, regardless of where your resources are located. Through its integration with Commvault, OChK BaaS supports virtually any platform—from physical servers and databases to virtual machines, cloud environments, and SaaS.
An Additional Layer of Protection
Not every organization requires the same level of protection, which is why we build resilience in layers—from data protection to full business continuity.
In addition to OChK Backup as a Service (BaaS), we also offer services such as:
WORM (Write Once, Read Many) – immutable data storage designed for retention and protection against ransomware.
Golden Copy – a service focused on creating and storing an isolated data copy that is resilient to ransomware, operational errors, and production environment compromise.
CTI as a Service – a service focused on gathering knowledge about current cyber threats specific to a given organization.
SOC as a Service – a monitoring service for client resources to ensure continuous operation, proper configuration, and seamless integration of IT environments.
Why Choose OChK BaaS?
Minimizing Data Loss Risk
An independent backup copy stored outside your primary location protects you from the severe consequences of hardware failures and cyberattacks. Your data remains safe even if your primary backup fails or becomes encrypted.
Cost Optimization
You reduce operational costs, as well as expenses related to hardware expansion and maintenance, software (licensing, vendor support), and the technology lifecycle (replacements, updates, and patching).
Unified Management Layer
A single process, a single owner, and a single escalation path mean faster decision-making and full control over distributed data.
Business Continuity Guarantee
We guarantee 24/7 expert support and system availability. Our priority is to ensure your company can instantly resume business processes in the event of a failure.
Security and Audit Support
We utilize advanced security mechanisms and provide ready-to-use restoration test reports, essential for audits and security compliance checks.
Rapid Service Deployment
You reduce the risk of downtime almost immediately, without burdening your internal IT team. We provide an instant improvement in data protection without costly hardware investments or long-term implementations.
Local Data Residency
Your data is stored within Poland across two separate OChK data centers. This ensures full compliance with national regulatory requirements and provides certainty regarding the physical location and legal jurisdiction of your assets.
Ensure business continuity when your local infrastructure fails.

FAQ
• Agentless backups: utilizing standard snapshots at the hypervisor level.
• Agent-based backups with application integration: advanced integration between a backup agent and an application. These integrations support applications such as Active Directory, MS SQL, Exchange, SharePoint, Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, and PostgreSQL. This ensures data consistency for critical systems and allows for granular recovery.
• Self-managed: OChK provides the service and tools, and the client performs backup/restore operations via the BaaS console, maintaining full control over backup policies.
• OChK-managed: The client delegates operational responsibility for data protection and recovery to OChK within an agreed scope. Our certified engineers take full responsibility for configuration, monitoring, and testing, alleviating the burden on your IT department.
